“Loving the Life I Create”
ALOHA!! It is so nice to meet you!! My name is Tiffany (owner/designer) and my husband Shane - the “Co” in this business. We have been together for more than a decade and I’m very thankful to have his unconditional love and support for always putting “US” first.
Creativity goes beyond limits and art allows us to have a deeper understanding of our emotions. Growing up with a strong passion for art, brought out the creativity in me. Both my parents have great artistic background. I like to take art to a whole new level ever since grade school - an over achiever - as some have called me. Being creative is where I find myself at one of most happiest moments in life and new challenges are always welcome. Coincidentally, my mother-in-law has the same love for crafts as well. She taught me the basics of jewelry making and in 2011, Miyako & Co was established. The name Miyako is also my middle name given by my mother and she always reminded me of how lucky I am to have that name. The kanji for my name translates to Beautiful (mi), Night (ya), Child (ko) and it makes perfect sense because I love to work at night.
Business logo was created/ designed by me and it holds so many meanings dear to my heart. I love cherry blossoms and wish to see them in person one day. All three of my ethnicities are harmonized in this logo. If you noticed a similar look to a plumeria, you are right. I was born and raised on the island of O’ahu in Hawai’i and I am also Native Hawaiian. Tying my other two ethnicities, Chinese and Japanese together as the first character in Miyako. As mentioned, “Mi” means Beautiful and if I may play on puns, Mi as in ME (lol) translating to — I am BEAUTIFUL inside and out — in the color black to make it a bold statement. Stay true to who you are. The colors and hearts were specifically chosen as a representation of our signature Tiffany Earrings and my love of all colors. Having mixed ethnicities is so wonderful as I extract my inspiration from there.
We hope you like what we have to offer. Our main passion is earrings, vinyl decals and stationery. We love to embellish items — adding a special touch to gift a special someone.
As for me, creativity just keeps going even when I’m sleeping. It never stops. I wonder what I will dream of next?!
